Home Care Assistance

Skilled Nursing Care

Our skilled nursing care services deliver expert, in-home medical support tailored to children with complex health needs. Licensed RNs and LPNs provide medication management, respiratory care, feeding tube support, and other essential nursing services, ensuring your child receives high-quality care in the comfort of home.

Our companion services provide emotional support, social engagement, and light assistance to help children feel connected and cared for. Whether through conversation, recreational activities, or supervision, our compassionate caregivers foster a sense of companionship and well-being, ensuring a comforting presence for both children and their families.

Clinical care in the comfort of your home

Home Care Assistance

Miralta caregivers are ready to provide the following services. When medically necessary, personal care services may also be provided by and paid to a parent or relative (please contact us to learn more).

Examples of personal care services may include (but are not limited to):

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

  • Assisting with bathing (bed baths, showers, or sponge baths)

  • Helping with dressing and undressing

  • Providing grooming assistance (brushing hair, shaving)

  • Assisting with oral hygiene

  • Toileting support (helping with bathroom use, incontinence care, changing diapers)

  • Transferring and mobility assistance (helping patients move from bed to wheelchair, walker)

  • Positioning and turning (for bedridden patients to prevent bedsores)

  • Feeding assistance (for patients who cannot feed themselves, excluding tube feeding)

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)

  • Preparing nutritionally appropriate meals

  • Assisting with eating (for those with limited motor function)

  • Light housekeeping (tidying the patient’s immediate area, making the bed)

  • Running errands such as grocery shopping (if part of the care plan

All services are performed under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Skilled Nursing Care

We employ highly qualified skilled nurses including RNs and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide these services under the direction of a physician and within a GAPP approved care plan.

Medication Administration & Management

  • Administering oral, injectable, intravenous (IV), or gastrostomy tube medications

  • Monitoring side effects and effectiveness

  • Managing complex medication regimens

Respiratory & Airway Management

  • Tracheostomy (“trach”) care (cleaning, suctioning, and monitoring airway)

  • Ventilator management and monitoring

  • Oxygen therapy

  • Administering nebulizer treatments

Feeding & Nutritional Support

  • Gastrostomy tube (G-tube) or nasogastric (NG) tube feeding

  • Monitoring weight, hydration, and nutrition

Wound & Skin Care

  • Dressing changes for surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, burns

  • Bed sore prevention & treatment

  • Ostomy care (colostomy, urostomy)

Cardiac & Circulatory Monitoring

  • Monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen

  • Managing central lines, PICC lines, or ports

Neurological & Seizure Management

  • Seizure monitoring and intervention

  • Cerebral palsy-related care

Bowel & Bladder Management

  • Catheter care and maintenance (Foley, suprapubic catheters)

  • Bowel program assistance for patients with neurogenic bowels

Patient & Family Education

  • Teaching parents/caregivers how to manage trach care, tube feedings, or give medication

  • Ensuring family readiness for ongoing home care

Companion Services

Miralta is licensed to provide sitter services for your child that reduce isolation and improve mental and physical wellbeing. Depending on medical needs, services may not be fully covered by GAPP.

Supervision & Safety Monitoring

  • Providing constant supervision to ensure the child’s safety

  • Preventing falls, wandering, or self-injury

  • Assisting with bedside companionship during naps or rest periods

  • Ensuring proper positioning for mobility

Social Engagement & Emotional Support

  • Offering companionship and conversation to reduce isolation

  • Engaging in stimulating activities such as reading, storytelling, or playing games

Light Household Assistance

  • Assisting with tidying up the child’s living area

  • Helping prepare simple snacks and meals

  • Organizing toys, books, or personal belongings

Accompaniment & Community Involvement

  • Escorting the child to appointments or therapy sessions (when allowed)

  • Assisting with outdoor activities such as short walks or supervised playtime

  • Providing support during family outings

Family Support & Caregiver Respite

  • Offering temporary relief for primary caregivers

  • Helping manage daily routines while parents attend to other responsibilities

  • Observing and reporting any concerns about the child’s well-being to the family
